My hatha yoga beginners class has been designed with YOU in mind. It is set at a much slower pace allowing you to follow the yoga postures with ease and comfort. Ideally fuelling you with the knowledge and confidence to practise postures at home and then ideally progress to a mixed ability yoga class.
A typical hatha yoga class looks like this:
Beginn in shavasana (corpse pose) great time to allow the mind and body to slow down before the class starts
Awareness of our breathing - practising abdominal breathing to improve energy and cleanse the body of waste
Gradually and progressively moving in and out of many different asanas (yoga postures) + Kundalini exercises
Pranayama - nadi shodhina (Alternative nostral breathing) helping to balance the mind and body
Finish in shavasana following a 5min Guided relaxation (Please bring a blanket for relaxation)
So many people would love to start practising yoga however might find taking that first step going to a yoga class very daunting. That is why i want to make it very clear to you that YOU ARE ENCOURAGED to take your time, rest when your body needs to and make postures more comfortable by modifying them to suite you. Please be rest assured that within each class i will guide you gently and thoughtfully into the world of yoga showing you ways to modify the practise to suit your needs and ability. The use of props such as blocks, straps and blankets will be introduced each week - If you can bring a blanket with you i will supply the rest.
