The Yin/Yang yoga practice strengthens and challenges the body in many different ways. Starting with the Yang practice (sun), it is dynamic, more fluid, as we move through various Sun Salutations (Surya Namaskars), developing a core strength and mobility, including various postures (asanas). Then moving into the Yin practice (moon), having settled the mind and the nervous system enough to begin the slow steady and often stationary practice with a sense of core softness and surrender.
Within the mixed ability classes we will explore many different yoga postures some will require great strength and flexibility and for this reason it is important to listen to your body and only progress into more challenging postures when you feel confident and ready. My yoga room only holds 9 people so i will keep a close eye on you helping you to performing the postures properly and more importantly safely.
